About Me

My career has followed a somewhat unconventional trajectory. It began in document production, graphic production, and design. But I fell in love with computers, taught myself database programming, and worked as a freelance FoxBase+/Visual FoxPro database developer for several years. I joined Microsoft when it acquired Fox Software and enjoyed various roles there, including Support Program Manager and Content Manager.

After Microsoft, I worked as a risk assessment tech, technical editor, and project coordinator at a wet infrastructure engineering firm (think dams, water sewage treatment plants, human health and ecological risk assessments, etc.).

Most recently, I’ve been a content creator, instructor, and instructional designer, concentrating on technology, engineering, and education.

With more than two decades of experience in technical communication, my current focus is developing actionable content that is accessible, inclusive, and engaging.

I relocated to the Greater Chicago area in late 2022 and completed a Masters in Education, Learning and Technology, at Western Governors University (WGU) in October 2023. It has been an exciting and fulfilling journey, and I look forward to what’s next.
